1. Welcome

Welcome to another edition of the Residual Magic newsletter. A special hello to the many new subscribers from here in the UK during June and July. The number 1 'nugget' this time is the guest article by Mike Dooley (one of 'The Secret' teachers.) If you do nothing else I recommend you subscribe to Mike's daily 'Notes From The Universe'... see the end of his article for the link.

All the best!

Richard Wall, North Yorkshire, UK.

2. Quote of the month

"Achievement is largely the product of steadily raising one's levels of aspiration and expectation." Jack Nicklaus

3. Visualisation - use your Windows desktop!

You are probably (hopefully!) familiar with The Secret movie or book (www.thesecret.tv). Or maybe some other personal development pearls of wisdom which recommend you visualise what you want.

I remember 25 years ago a cousin of mine, Martin, was involved with Amway. Martin had pictures of a BMW and a helicopter on his fridge. Very strange I thought at the time. Martin left Amway 24 years ago. However he does have a BMW now - one of those large ones with a DVD player, hot and cold running water and I think a Jacuzzi.

I have a 'The Secret' style vision board in my home office. This stuff definitely works. How about a virtual vision board? Although I started using MS Windows back in 1986 when it was brand new, I have only now thought of using the Windows Desktop as a visualisation tool. If one of your goals is to have a Toyota Avensis, Reliant Robin, Morris Thousand... or a new house, change your desktop to an image of what you want. It's amazing how many times you see your desktop in a day. Better than looking at a Microsoft logo.

By the way, make sure you add a date so you have a deadline, otherwise it might be merely a dream. Here's mine:

Why not a BMW or Ferrari? That's another story

Notes From The Universe

by: Mike Dooley

If ever there was proof of magic in my life, that I now spend part of every day writing for "the Universe", is it. Not even 4 short years ago, after we closed down the last of the TUT stores and liquidated our remaining inventory, I briefly hit the pavement with my accountant's resume in hand.

Fortunately, no one was hiring (at least not me!), and fortunately again, I had enough money from our T-shirt days to coast awhile. Even more fortunately, I still had a thousand or so people looking forward to receiving my "Monday Morning Motivators" via email each week.

So I decided that as long as I didn't have to work, yet, I'd keep doing the one thing that filled me with the greatest sense of accomplishment and purpose - write. And figure out how to make it pay, later.

Talk about scary. As the months rolled by, there were plenty of nights I tossed, literally in a sweat, thinking "what am I doing with my life? How did I get here? What went wrong? What if I don't make any money at this? What if I have to sell my home? What if I can't find a job, and no one will buy my home? What if? What if? What if...?" And day after day, week after week, month after month, my reserves dwindled and nothing came in.

But I knew a trick. I knew that figuring out "the how's", wasn't really my job, it was the Universe's. I also knew to focus on the end result, the kind of life I wanted, and to get busy turning over every stone, knocking on every door, following every impulse, so that theoretically, at least, the Universe could take care of the details.

Whaaaaa! Has it ever!!! Somehow, during all the knocking and turning and visualizing, I acted on enough hunches and instincts to keep me buoyed with the necessary optimism to press on and not look back. And literally, the next thing I knew, the Adventurers Club was born, a variety of speaking opportunities arose, I produced a major audio program that now sells all over the world, and the Universe began using email. Even today, I look around and can hardly believe the reversal and rise of my good fortune.

I always knew it worked, but the thrill of experiencing it yet again, in spite of my worries, doubts, and frustrations, has been an awesome adventure; one I know everyone deserves and can experience for themselves.

If nothing else, please remember, no matter how dark things get, no matter how difficult, if you continue to do your part, the Universe has to do its part - it's the law, and things will turn around.

To the life of your dreams,

Mike Dooley

 About the "Notes"

At the launching of TUT's Adventurer's Club on July 17, 2000, we began sending out personalized daily inspirational emails to all members, Tuesday through Friday. (On Mondays everyone was already receiving a Monday Morning Motivator.) In the beginning, these mailings were called "Silver Bullets" because they were designed to pierce through the illusions of each day with nuggets of truth and insight. But as the popularity of these mailings grew, three things began to happen:

  1. More and more often, fellow adventurers would remind us that "bullets" were better known for wreaking havoc than encouraging enlightenment.

  2. On Fridays the Silver Bullets came to be written from the perspective of the Universe, which created the opportunity to offer insights and inspiration that normally couldn't be said from the perspective of "mere mortal". And,

  3. On these Fridays, the Universe began showing more and more of a personality, with humorous quips and unpredictable tales, making them even more popular. So popular, that on February 12, 2002, the daily "Silver Bullets" became the "Notes from the Universe", mailing 5 days a week, supplanting even our Monday Morning Motivators.

5. Breeze Update

The term 'ground floor opportunity' is usually enough to send a shiver down my spine.  I even heard one of them being called a 'sub-basement opportunity'. I've been involved in a few in my time. Yes, it's exciting to get in early, however most of them either never fully get off the ground or they run out of fuel soon after take-off.

Breeze is now my main focus. It's well and truly off the ground now, however we are still pioneers in what is going to be a huge global success story. If you are actively looking for another income stream and don't want to wait months or even years before sensible money kicks in, do let me know. We are looking for motivated people to join us in these exciting early days when hardly anyone has heard of Breeze. Hardly anyone had heard of eBay a few years ago.

Breeze is refreshingly different - there are no multi levels and no whipping out a whiteboard from behind the curtains during dinner. The timing is extraordinary, the 2 founders made millions of dollars in a previous venture, they've invested millions and they know what they are doing. They're passionate about helping people like us become wealthy...

... and the other BIG reason why I am excited? Breeze is attracting some fun people, many of whom have never been near a 'home-based business' before. It's refreshingly 'upmarket'.

6. Technical nugget

Are you getting fed up with Junk Emails? I'm actually fed up of Junk Email filtering. I've tried MSOutlook's junk mail filtering and also some of the SPAM filter tools out there on the Internet. However, I've now reverted to the quick and effective SPAM removal tool I used before. It doesn't run the risk of filtering out Emails I do want to receive and it's free of charge. It's the Delete key on my keyboard. I reckon I can clear 50 SPAM Emails from my inbox in about 50 seconds. No flies on me mate.

7. Book of the month

Allan Pease is a world renowned communications skills speaker and author, known as 'Mr Body Language'. If you are involved in a direct sales or MLM home based business this book,  especially the first half, is essential reading.

Allan includes a promise in the book: "If you promise to learn the technique off by heart and not to change a word for the first 14 days, I promise that the results will be beyond your wildest dreams." That's a big promise... you can buy the book for peanuts on Amazon.

Questions are the Answers, by Allan Pease. ISBN 0-959-365877
